Black Lives Create Fest 2020

2020 has been one hell of a year to say the least with police brutality, injustice and racism. One thing that has always brought people together is art. Art is both subjective and enlightening. Nina Simone once said, "It's an artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times."

On August 22, 2020 Knobhill Urban Arts District (KHUA) will be presenting The Black Lives Create Fest in the Knob Hill neighborhood. Thirty Black vendors will sell original works of art, goods, services and talents. Proceeds from all sales will go directly to the artist, maker or vendor.

I had the honor of being featured in both the Colorado Springs Indy and The Gazette you can read both articles by clicking the links below. This was my first time ever being featured in a newspaper! At the event I had two women approach me, one saying hey are you Liz Lawrence? I read your article in the paper and another one asking for my autograph. I had not seen the article yet in The Gazette because I did an interview over the phone with Jennifer Mulson. The lady was kind enough to give me my article page out of the paper. It's moments like this that I live for as an artist.
